New beginning for us.

Hello all,
Just joined this wonderful forum and wanted to say hi.
My husband and I have just sold our company and downsized our house and are looking for a cruising cat to spend more of our time on.
We have been sailing on friends catamarans and chartering for quite a number of years so we know its a cat that we want and we are looking for something around 40/45ft that we can handle together.
Any comments on new Vs brokerage would be grateful, what people have found are the tried and tested makes and also what is new on the market as we like the idea of electric drives, solar (going a bit more eco!!)
Many thanks for listening to my ramblings :-)

Re: New beginning for us.

Welcome to CF Jay!

I'm more of a dog (mono) man vs cats at the moment.... So it's just the greeting from me! That being said, there are tons of guys who have the answers for you because of location and experience... They'll be along rather quickly.... You will also have better luck if you post your specific questions with a good accurate title.... Detailed discussions will develop in each...

Re: New beginning for us.

Thanks for the quick welcomes guys.
I do have a lot of questions like broker recommendations on the East Coast US as that is where we would like to start our travels.
Its all well and good looking on website, but you cannot beat a personal recommendation.

Re: New beginning for us.

Phillip Berman with the Multihull Company was a big help to us. We started looking for used and ended up with going with new.

Welcome Aboard.

Jim Adams Ft Lauderdale Moorings brokerage was and still is a great resource for us. Whenever I need some info or recommendations about our boat he is always glad to help.
