near Jacksonville with a Bayfield or Westsail?
Hello,
I am writing to ask an incredible favor. I currently live in Denver and have been saving up money for the last 6 years, it has come time to move on to a sailboat and have an adventure. I am torn between 2 beamy boats, the Westsail 32, and the Bayfield 32c. I have only been on these boats for sort amounts of time and never with the sails up. The Question: Is there anyone who lives near Jacksonville that can take me and my purchase partner out on a sail? I will be flying down there November 20th-23rd. I appreciate your help! thanks -Patrick |

Aloha Patrick,
I can't help you on your quest but will welcome you aboard the forum just as well. I like the West Sail but have no experience with the Bayfield. Kind regards, JohnL |

Thanks JohnL,
I have to admit, this forum has been very helpful. I have been looking at boats for some time now and I find the posts on this forum most informing. Cheers, -Patrick |

Did you settle on a boat yet? I left Denver 12/07, after selling the house and belongings and went to Flordia looking for a boat to cruise in. Bought a Bayfield 36 and currently cruising in Colombia. No problems with the Bayfield. Jst interested in how toyr journey is going.

That's quite coincidental, we just sold our place and are moving down to Florida on the 13th of January. Unfortunately, we couldn't end up affording a Bayfeild, however, we found a great CSY 33 in Tampa that will suit us perfectly well.
We will need to spend the next month or so outfitting the boat but our goal is to set sail in mid-February. Where do you two think you will be in February? |

We plan on leaving Colombia in the next couple of weeks and head to the San Blas Islands and maybe on to Colon. We should be in Providencia in Feb or March.
What part of Denver did you live in. Reply back to my email. I don't always check this site. Good to talk with you. kirbyasay@msn.com |
