My first sailboat Grampian 26

I joined here a few months ago and have browsed through various post, but haven't posted till now.. My name is Rich Powers and I'm new to sailing and sailboats. I bought my Grampian 26 about six months or so ago, and motored it 80 miles from by Sapelo island and currently have it anchored on the back River of Tybee Island a few blocks from where I live. Although I board the boat 2 or 3 times a week, and check on it 3 or 4 times a day, I've not yet actually sailed it.. I just never done it before and... Well just haven't tried yet.... But once I start, I'm quite sure it will continue frequently.

Yikes! Don't say something like that!
The only reason I haven't sailed it yet is because not wanting to risk wrecking it.. I've never even so much as been aboard another sailboat, and want someone who knows what they're doing to accompany me for at least the first sail. Their have been numerous people around here who say they would show me how, but so far not actually happened. I have motored it numerous s times, but that's kinda boring. I will begin sailing before the year is out.

Yeah, would be nice to have someone go out with you and get you started. If you were in Michigan, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Seems like someone around your area would do it. The trick will be to get someone who really knows what they're doing. No Captain Ron.
