Midwest Sailor Looking to Broaden . . .

Hi everyone, my name's Frank...

I grew up sailing dinghies... raced 470s, Lasers, and FJs in college... chartered a number of times...florida... BVI... Puerto Rico... Now I'm up to 5 weeks vacation each year and am using my 24' S2 more and more...

My wife Maureen enjoys sailing. She joins all my trips. (But i do need to keep the cruising bug a secret - she isn't yet convinced a live on the water is for her.) I read a nice blog once by a retired couple cruising their Valiant 40. They would sail for 6 months, then put the boat in dry dock for 6 months wherever they happened to be while they did something else. This sounded about ideal to me.

I hope to pick up crew opportunities over the next 5 years while I cruise to an early retirement...

cheers from Cincy,
Frank (& Maureen).

Welcome!

My wife is leading the charge for the move aboard, so I guess I'm pretty lucky.

thanks for the notes... Jungle Jims... you passed very close to our house !... about the partnership with sailing... i'll take what i can get - in some ways she keeps me from going to far at times.

Looking forward to learning for this very active group, thanks !

G'Day Guys,
Can I add my welcome also. Hope you realise the dreams and that we'll see you both out cruising someday.
Cheers
