The benefits of lithium do seem to outweigh the expense....I suppose one could start with el-cheapo golfcart cells or AGM, and gradually replace with the nicer lithiums, and the boat gets lighter as you go. Easier for a monohull to get away with. Does your cat have any ballast at all?
