Mantus Anchors

Hello from Friday Harbor in the lovely San Juan Islands of Washington. I'm on a 33 ft Fjord pilot house sloop. I have seen the Mantis anchor on several visiting boats this summer and am curious as to how well they hold compared to bruce and plow anchors. I currently use a 45lb CQR with 200 ft chain and wonder if I could get away with a smaller anchor. I would also like to enter the Mantis contest - Mantus Anchors | Mantus Anchors produces new generation boat anchors that set on the first try - every time. Learn more about these high performance marine products here..

Welcome Aboard!
We actually try not to use the "A" word on this forum. I'm afraid you have already lit the fuse. Anchor questions tend to explode and the threads never die.

It doesn't matter what anchor you have, on this forum it is always too small, the wrong kind and you don't have enough chain.

Hi sailor sully

Welcome to the forum.
I have been testing a Mantus anchor for the last five months (I was using a Rocna for five years prior to that) and I have been very impressed with it.

I have tried to provide objective evidence with photos, but the Mantus has been a bit a boring - it just consistently sets well .

Fire away with any specific questions.

(Note Mantus have supplied the anchor at no charge, but it is a 'warts and all' report).

To enter the competion you need to put your entry in the competion thread. I could give you a link, but then the rest of us would all stand less chance of winning .

OK here it is

Re: Mantus Anchors

What are the chances of Mantus producing a 35#version of their dinghy anchor for us schmucks with bowsprits and no room for a roll bar?
Rocna still has almost a month to show us their new offering.
My CQR is silently rusting as we speak.
