Looking Forward to Enjoying the Cruiser Lifestyle

Hi We are Colette McMurran and David Rennox and live in Hastings Ontario. We have decided that in 7 years we are going to retire to the Carribean and live on at least a 40 ft. sailboat. Over these years we plan on learning several things including sailing (I don't know how as yet), spanish, as well as what things are useful on a boat. We think that learning small motors and sail repair would be useful as well.

Thanks for having us, and are looking forward to making friends here.

Colette

welcome to cf.... learn diesel mechanix, marine electricals, 12 volt stuff, which end is which, how air and water move, marine carpentry, a/c /refrigeration.... small engine mechanix....fiberglass repair and building techniques.... is a fun lifestyle--i do enjoy it. oh yeah-- how to sail--is really kinda important to know how to use the boat once ye figger out the pointy end from the propeller end. fishing helps--- is cool to be able to catch and prep dinner....
might also be good to learn well how to tell weather ....

you have more than enough time to do that and sail for practice over 7 yrs time...have fun, smooth sailing,, and, again, welcome.
