Looking for IKE related info on watergate marina

Hi all,

we're checking any and everywhere right now. we keep s/v boto at the watergate yachting center in kemah, texas (9b,44). right now the surrounding area is flooded and blocked with much debris and the surrounding towns have various curfews in place, we lilkely will not get to boto before sunday. the local news is giving some info on the area however we are looking to see if anyone out there has specific info on watergate and its condition. if anyone has some info would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

to all others in the wake of IKE hope all is well with you.

Without power it's going to be a while before you can get information. If there isn't power in the area no one from there will be posting here for a few more days at minimum. If you've got power you are doing a lot better than a lot of people.

Best of luck.

The news coverage is about everyplace except Watergate and Waterford. So what that means is there is probably not much damage since the news only covers the places they can show dramatic destruction. BTW DirecTV is running KHOU news from Houston directly to all subscribers right now.

thanks all, we too assumed that if the media hasn't covered it then things are likely in good shape. we have since heard from some folks in the area, for the watergate/waterford marinas the early report is that floating docks came to within 5 feet of the tops of pilings at the peak and that waters are subsiding; the kemah boardwalk marina is flooded however no damage has been reported to vessels therein. power in the seabrook, kemah, league city areas appears to come and go. as we here any more we shall report here as well as other sites.

as an aside, khou has done an excellant job throughout, minimal hype with good solid facts, they are also streaming all of their broadcasts on their website as well as the archives.

hope everyone is safe and dry.

ike damage clear lake area

Looks like the majority of the damage at Watergate is Piers 10-19, the bayou sode. The main harbor is still relatively orderly. One of our boats is on pier 18 by the west pool and she is floating undamaged in her slip. Pier 20 has been destroyed, but there are a few boats floating. Our 23' com-pac is one of them! She is/was in slip 10. She does have damage tough. My husband is in the marina as well as some other live aboards and are securing thinkgs that broke free...

Also, Marina del Sole, Waterford, South Shore Harbor seem to all be ok.

Thanks to all for helping those boaters that can not get back to check up on thier boats. You al lhave been so helpful in making us feel connected. My dad will be traveling down in a few days. Is there anything he can bring from Dallas that people might need. Rope, food, water, waterpumps, comic relief! Please let me know so that I can forward the info. I am certain that he is more than willing to help his fellow captains!
