Got it and responded. I'll speak with you tomorrow if you return with your phone number (not here, of course!). Based on the brochure, it looks ike an interesting boat.

Fred..

I sent you an email but just in case, the following was my message:

Quote:
I have spoken with your Broker and he has agreed to permit me to take a look. I will be meeting him at Regatta Point at 14:30 today unless he calls to reschedule. I am doing some repair work on our own boat, only a mile or two away, so running over there for a short look-see is no problem. One thing FYI, he cautioned me that the boat needs "...some clean up..." which could mean any number of things. If the owner is an absentee, the exterior may just be dirty as most brokerages do not seem to be too great about maintaining a boat's cosmetics on behalf of a seller. If so, that's a minor issue. If not, however...

I will take a close look at the bilges and the mechanical gear and if he will start the engine, how it sounds. I'll let you know what I find/think this evening.
Regards,

svHyLyte

Closing Note

For the benefit of those that might have been following this thread, I spoke with the OP, Fred, earlier this afternoon after looking at his prospective purchase. As I discussed with him, the yacht had been ridden hard and put away wet, apparently many times. The exterior was in bad shape, more-so than simply cosmetics, with much of the woodwork evidencing rot. The exterior was only a harbinger of what was below. There was virtually no surface on the interior not flecked with, if not completely coated with, heavy black mold. The yacht was filthy--literally--with semi-dried black oily muck caked in the bilges and standing putrid water, with a good 1/2" of oil/sludge floating on it, in the engine sump.

I could go on....

How someone could offer a yacht in such condition for sale escapes me.

FWIW...
