Long Time Lurker, First Time Poster

It seems the dream finally came true, so:

I sailed small boats around Lake Carlyle and the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers before moving to the San Francisco Bay area in 2008. It was time to take some sailing lessons and see if I had any natural aptitude for this. Now there's no turning back.

A nasty divorce removed the last barrier to closing on a Catalina 470 at the end of 2013. I waited for a sane weather window and spent January moving Flying Saucer north from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Home port is Oyster Point.

Trying to become a better sailor between now and the day I get sick and tired of IT consulting. Clock's ticking

This forum has provided a lot of insight in the last few years and I hope to be able to give something back.
