Living in Annapolis - New to Forum

Howdy all-

I am new to Cruisers Forum. I am in the military, had the good fortune to be stationed in Key West where I lived onboard my 1991 Hunter Marine 33.5 Heaven Bound at the Boca Chica marina from 2003 through 2007.

From there I was stationed in Japan for two years and am now in the process of moving the boat up to Annapolis, MD where I am now stationed.

While I am dreading the winters, I am really looking forward to getting back onboard and exploring a bit of the Chesapeake.

Welcome to the Forum, Heaven Bound! You'll love sailing the Chesapeake--greatest gunk-holing in the world, and Annapolis is right in the center of it.

Aloha and Welcome aboard!
Thanks for serving. Lots of military and retired military on the forum. Key West and Annapolis, let me guess, "Coast Guard?"
Retired Navy here.
Regards,

Sounds about right. Lots of good sailing in spring and fall though. August is maybe as bad as February. The long spring and fall make it pretty nice though.

Close, I am Navy. Got the Key West assignment purely by luck! This gig, Annapolis, that was easy!

Thank you for your service. My husband's 2 brothers are gradutes of Annapolis and now retired Capts. We came to Annapolis in search of our boat, found it and will be moving aboard later this week. We will be moving her to Hartge Yacht Harbor/Galesville we will sail around here and then heading south about Oct/Nov. Holding up in hotel to we move aboard. Hope all goes well for you and your plans. Dreams do come true. Our youngest son is in the Marines and understand the dedication it takes for all the men and women in all branches of the service.

Thank you again
James & Trish
