Landlocked in MA.... not for long

Hello all and thanks for the great forum. I am fortunate in that my 10-year dream of extended cruising is coming together in '09 but now I am faced with how little I know and how soon it's coming -Too many books, too little wet. I haven't owned a boat yet and have lake-sailing experience in tiny boats only (...you mean there can be more than one sheet?). Fortunately my wife is trusting and enthusiastic and we are already in the process of adjusting our lifestyle for an easier transition to semi-liveaboard status. Did I mention we are Wharram fans and will be doing everything possible to make a Wharram our first sea lover.

Cheers!

HI there welcome to the forum.if at all possible it would be helpfull to you if you chartered a boat like the one you want to buy and go on a captained cruise that way he could tell you some of the quirks those designs have if there are any, hope this wasn't to much. happy sailing

You're luckier than you might realize, if that's the case!

Aloha Alias,
Welcome aboard! Our club has a Wharram 23 that is pretty much fun to sail. You'd need a bit larger to cruise though.
Kind regards,
JohnL
