Land Lubber on Board !

Hello to all on the forums here!

I have a brother who is currently headed northwest across the Solomon Sea on a Fast Passage 39, and has run into some issues with lost sails and low winds. I am his land contact while he goes off the radar out at sea, and would like to see if anyone could give me some help on getting him a new sail.

His request:

Dear friend,

Looking for a light air headsail for my Fast Passage 39 foot monohull sailboat. My luff length on my 95% jib is 43.5 and my headsail setup is furling.

Please let me know what you have available that could range from a 150 genoa with an area not to be smaller than 650 sq ft or weight heavier than 6 oz to a gennaker of 1.5 oz of size of apporximately 1200 sq ft.

please send color of sail (the more colorful the better), shipping weight and size and price.

cheers from the Solomon Sea,

Capt. alex rust

Thank in advance for any info/recommendations!

My internet connection slows to a crawl at this time of day/night, but the site I've always used for finding replacement sails (i usually buy used, because I don't put that many miles on them and repairs are simple if the canvas has any life at all) is Bacon Sails & Marine Supplies

The luff of 43'6" seems small for a Fast Passage 39, though. I'm sure he knows the boat better than I do after a quick google of sail dimensions, though

Good luck to your brother! And it's good of you to lend a hand with coordinating stuff like this. I always appreciate assistance from shore when I'm in a pinch.

The Solomon Sea is in the South Pacific Ocean, between the Solomon Islands and New Guinea.
