LAND LOCKED IN NORTH DAKOTA

Hi to everyone
Yes I'm from North Dakota but sailboats have allways intrigued me. Last year my wife and I purchased a Bayliner Buchaneer and I no its not a fast boat or a blue water boat but it is rather roomy for us and our twin girls who are nine.
We have had several fun days and nights on our little 27 ft boat and are looking forward to many more. North Dakota has some very large lakes and we live fourty minuits away from the largest one Lake Sakakwea and it has several miles of shoreline and deep water and good fishing.
My wife and I are looking forward to getting our girls raised here and then going on several blue water journeys. So in the fucture when I have mastered this whole lake sailing I will be looking forward to learning the tricks of sailing on the big pond.
So for now just wanted to say hi and let everyone know who was reading their posts JST URL

If your dragging the boat around, don't miss a short jaunt up to Lake Winnipeg just north of where you are... good wind, great anchorages and 9% beer! cheers, Phil

Re: LAND LOCKED IN NORTH DAKOTA

I love North Dakota and grew up in MN and CO. I now have a sailboat on the east coast, but still spend part of my time out west. Some people will say its a wannabe who holds onto the lubberly side of life, but I find it to be a nice balance. I envy that you have your boat so close to "home"!! Fair winds to the future.

Go to Nelson Lake for year round sailing. Just be ready for a lot of tacks and gybes.
