I am a recently retired (merchant)
marine engineer and am new to the forum if not to cruising. My girlfriend, the lovely and talented Dianna, and I are readying my Edel 43 cruiser for a short (6-week)
cruise through the
Bahamas next week from here in
Key Largo. Itinerary is open but probably
Exumas,
Long Island and maybe Eleuthra. A patchwork crew made up mostly of my retired union brothers from the MEBA will assist and enjoy as well.
We are toying with returning via the Middle Bight of Andros as we received a good report from Skye, a
Shuttleworth 32. We were on a
Gemini cat then and now draw more
water at 3' 09". If anyone with any direct experience with this trip would care to share their insights please don't hesitate.
