Just joined recently

Hi everyone , my name is Duncan and I'm from the u.k. , just on the Cheshire / north Wales border , I don't have a sailing boat but I do have a river and canal cruiser , 30 ft long and she is a real classic , and I'm very proud of the work I have done on her so far to get her looking like she should .
Just got to say on reading some of the posts that you guys are awesome , getting to all those fantastic places all around the world , I think I might be feeling that I'm in the wrong place to share my joy that I get from my little trips .
Everyone feel free to get in touch at anytime and I promise to get back to you , I drive an articulated lorry most nights but I will be looking on here every weekend , sail safe,

Duncan, welcome to the community. What's mundane to you is exotic to me! I'm enjoying my little trips in the same areas that I've cruised for decades.

Preston Brook by the look of the pictures.

My girlfriend once gave a long list of why I should have bought a narrow boat rather than a sail boat, included such things as
Stays Upright
There is always a pub near by
Can get off for a walk any time
If you put something down, it will stay where you left it
Turning corners is a sedate affair, not accompanied by loud noises and flappy things
Navigation is pretty easy, if you are really lost, ask someone on the tow path
You dont need to spend a fortune on an anchor
No need for all those bits of string
Never been sea sick on a narrow boat

If my dog could write, she would probably have the same list but would have added that a canal is more convenient for taking a leak than somewhere in the middle of the Irish Sea.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here on the forum and boating is fun no matter what kind of boat and where the water is. I like canoeing as well as sailing. I don't even mind a powerboat from time to time and use them frequently.
kind regards,
