Not too familiar with the Red Sea side outside of snorkeling and
fishing. There's a bit of sailing over on the Gulf side, mostly sunfish and lasers. I always liked half moon bay there-can't remember if it's Aramco or USM property though. Bahrain has a yacht club where you can rent small dinghies, and the club also hosts owners' much larger boats, but you can't rent those; could probably
email the club and set up a
crewing oppty though. The feluccas in the Nile are great fun if you pop over to
Egypt. If you do that though, bring extra
food and drink. A favorite scam of the felucca skippers is to take you out, and then say it's extra to get back; at which point you just open your fourth Sakkara, lean back, and say, "in'shallah." They'll take you back right away after that!
Apologies if you know all this already, but I know it's hard to find out about this stuff in KSA so thought I'd chime in.
