It's Official - 2010 Is 'Quit Being a Mariner and Start Being a Sailor Again'

If you noticed the photo of the ship in the ice field that is one of my next ports of call. No not on my sloop I'm a merchant mariner for one last go round.

Along with that the last few wind up refit/upgrades on what once was a 20 page long list is done to one page and a stock Westerly Berwick 31 sloop is now a super modified class double headsail sloop. If you hang at Port Townsend WA you've seen it.

Look in crew wanted for the rough itinerary for 2010 and 2011.

And that is my introduction. Won't be posting this winter....I have to go to that 'next port' first. Cold but it pays the bills at Boat Haven.

Cheers

Aloha and Welcome aboard!
Port Townsend is a great place to hang out. Really like the Wooden Boat Festival.
You like Poulsbo?
regards,

Ja! Whic reminds me. Seattlelite was touring Europe and found himsef in Norway. A native asked "Where you from in the US?"

Seattle! In Washington state.

a pause

The Norske replied "That anywhere near Poulsbo?"

You can substitute Ballard also. Or Minneapolis-St.Paul and Fargo.

Ole and Lena had landed in the USA and bought a team an wagon. They were heading out to the Pacific Northwest of this new country with the advise " Keep going til you see waves."

Exiting the woodlands of middle Minnesota the arrived at the Great Plains wind swept buffalo grass and all.

"Look Ole by golly" exclaimed Lena. It looks just like waves with that wind and all!:

"By yumpin yimminy" he shouted back. "Stop the wagon before we drown!"

And that's how the Norske's got to the Dakotas. Fishing was terrible though which is why Lutefisk was invented.
