Introduction

Hello All-
I discovered this site while looking for information regarding the lost Nina. I saw that my cousin, Cherie Martinez, is getting support from the community. Cousin Dave is smart and experienced and I believe that the crew will pull through. I look forward to learning a lot from all of you.

Re: Introduction

Thank you for the friendly welcome(s) It may take me a bit before I feel comfortable posting anything; I don't know much about boats and sailing but the sea has always fascinated me. I want to learn as much I can. As I mentioned before, my cousin is the captain of the Nina and I am concerned with her whereabouts. Like I said, I don't know much but if the boat sank, wouldn't there be some debris (flotsam?) floating around? I take that as a good sign.

Re: Introduction

Aloha and welcome aboard!
We are all holding out hope of hearing good news about Nina. Yes and if a boat or ship passed a debris field they would more than likely investigate unless it was during darkness or in very rough conditions.
kind regards,

Re: Introduction

Hi. This is my first try at a forum, but I'm just learning to sail at a vintage age and need all the advice I can get. I bought Liza in February this year and joined the cruise club. Everyone has been great helping and sailing with me so far and I find the hardest part is remembering the terminology and coming back to my mooring. I've been reading some of your Threads and would like to join in. I have a 27ft Albin Vega that I think is small enough to learn on and I am doing some refitting just to make things a little more senior friendly, so here I go....
Regards
Sheila
