Introduce myself

Well hi. I've been lurking around here for a few days and decided to join in. My husband and I are in the beginning stages of purchasing a sailboat, and there seems to be a lot of information we can use here. I have spent many summers on my parent's sailboat as a kid (an Ericson 32, I believe), but it's been about 15 years. Husband has almost no experience. We also have an 8 year old daughter - she thinks she'll be the captain since grandma and grandpa let her man the helm so she knows all there is to know about sailing

My parents are obviously a good place to start getting some information, but they are cruising around the world at this time, so I have pretty limited communication with them.

Anyway, just wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions!

Puntin,
Welcome! There are nemerous individuals that frequent this forum that are on the move. They will be able to answer most of your questions. What are your parents sailing around the world? Do they communicate with you using the net?

WELCOME,

Sounds like you already have a good idea of what to expect. Manning the helm doesn't really make you the captain. Although it does make you the helmsperson!

Thanks! They are sailing a 56' custom ketch. About 99% of our communication is through email. The wonders of modern technology
