Intro

Happy to be in the world of Diesel!

Yeah, no ,more Atomic Bomb, wondering if it would start, or when it would die.

I have a new for me Ericson 38 with a Perkins 4-108, slightly overpowered, I am told, with the boat weighing 15,000.

One of the members at our club has an Ericson that's getting a Vovlodectomy. Blew the tranny and are putting in a 100% yanmar drivetrain.

Welcome to the forum, it's great here.

Aloha Rettsie,
Welcome aboard!! The 4-108 might be a bit heavy and develops about 30-36hp at the RPMs it is most happy with. I don't think its too over powering for your use. A little on the high side. It will definitely be a great engine if cared for properly. Lots of threads on 4-108/4-107s here so you can learn as much as you ever want to know about the engine.
Hope you enjoy the forum.
Kind Regards,
JohnL
