Into Sailing we go...

Mrs. Siryaksalot and I are thinking about getting into sailing. I grew up sailing Sailfish/Sunfush/Hobie 16 in salt ponds. I enjoy kayaking Watch Hill, and both of us fresh water ponds and lakes. Kayaked Irene on local water.

We're looking for a project boat. A Pearson 10M just slipped through our fingers, but we had a really good chance to see what time and money goes into a boat. As with sailing, we're after the journey together--the launch is secondary to the experience and time together on the hard. We've refinished/rebuilt small wooden boats and enjoyed the experience together.

Been lurking here for a few weeks. What an awesome community here. Much learned, much more to learn.

I have to admit that I always liked working on older yachts and bringing them up to speed. I reworked a Pearson 27 Renegade and a Westsail 32. Good luck on your search for your yacht.

You may notice the differences between your avatar and maxingout's. The more you can tell us about where you are and in what types of boats you are presently interested, the better we can attune our responses to your needs.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
I've got a project for you but you'll have to come to Hawaii and get it.
