i work for Sichuan Sincere & Long-Term Complex Material Co., Ltd. in China,which is a manufacturer of fiberglass products,such as chopped strand mat,used in composite material for boat,plane and so on.

so i have some sailor friends,and so i am really interesting in sailor's life style,so mystery and admiring.good luck to all of you,a sincere girl from china really wish you with whole life safely.

My son just returned from Bejing. He stayed with the family of a friend while he was there and had a wonderful time. The food was a challenge however. Sea Cucumber was almost a show stopper but he said he finally tried everything. I would have been very disappointed had he not. Thanks for the good wishes.

China must be an exciting place at the moment and full of opportunities for those who can seize them, so if you have any ambitions to sail the seven seas (all 12 of them ) then remember that the only limit to ambition is your imagination .

Hi Linky,
I am based in Cheung Chau, Hong Kong and building a steel yacht for long distance cruising. Living in the fishing port of Cheung Chau where many families still live on board makes it easy to see oneself moving onto a yacht for short trips or long term cruising. My chinese wife still finds the idea of sailing and living on board rather perplexing but she is learning rapidly. And I am learning heaps about the chinese traditions of sailing.

I was a Chinese major in college and used to be fluent (Mandarin).

Living on sailboats and cruising around in them only seems mysterious. Once you realize that we’re all crazy, it makes perfect sense.

'Slow boat to China' is a saying that would fit my boat nicely. Its just too far, yet from what I've seen its beautifle. It'd be difficult to sway my wife to travel that far but its nice to see our little earth is really so vast. Happy sailing!

Linky, welcome to the board. I haven't been here too long myself but could tell you that there is a wealth of information here and some really helpful folks. We could all probably learn a thing or two from you about fiberglass.
