Northwesterner here. Welcome aboard. If you can ever get 5 weeks in the summer...... up the inside ,around Vancouver Island and down the outside is the trip of a lifetime.... and a great shakedown cruise for eventual blue water. Abandoned indian villages with totem poles, great seafood laying on the beaches etc. The currents will definitely teach you to plan your voyage!

That is a very beautiful area, have you noticed the pretty bottom paint on the Goat Island jetty? Nope not mine, but that sure looks like a tempting shortcut at high tide, until you see it at low tide.

Yea... there are several areas that dont look so inconsequential at low tide!
