Howdy

Hello Everyone

New to the forum. Have been sailing since a kid, grew up on a boat being home schooled in the cockpit while cruising around the Caribbean in the mid 70's. Best childhood ever! As many may have figured from my handle Pete O Static, I ended up in aviation and currently fly a B777 for a living. Not so much for the love of airplanes, but because it gives me the most time off to go Sailing!!

Have had the privilege of owning several boats over the years, a Cal 25, Ranger 22, San Juan 30, Ericson 35 and I now keep a beautifully restored C&C 29 MkII on Lake Champlain in NY and also have a Jeanneau 36 in a charter fleet in the Caribbean.

I hate winter and I live in Canada. Go figure.

I was going to say "yeah, yeah, rub it in" about growing up on a sailboat but I live where you can sail year round, so I guess we're even.

Move South!

Re: Howdy

Welcome Pete! Canada is a wonderful country. I've spent many weeks hunting and fishing in Manitoba and Ontario. There's nothing like taking a float plane into the bush and listening to the wolf packs howl at night. With a boat in the Carribean you truly have the best of both worlds available to you.
