Hiya

Hi folks.

The wife and I currently live in central Oklahoma. We are moving to Alaska soon and would love to on a sailing vessel up there to use to explore the area with. Would also like it to be able to go south and maybe even Hawaii. Neither of us sail but both will be taking lessons, lots of lessons.

So we are just the 2 of us and will be asking lots of questions, lots of stupid questions probably. LOL

Right now, with my limited knowledge, I have been eyeing a cal 40 as a possible vessel for us. I just don't know how difficult the boat will be for a duo or single. person to effectively operate. SO I am gonna be looking for advice as towhere to start to get expience so that I dont lose anyone or anything du to my own negligence/knowledge.

Hope to chat some more soon.

Re: Hiya

Welcome,

Lots to be gathered from the forums.

Good luck with the transition.

Re: Hiya

welcome, Dropy. the only stupid question is the one that goes unasked. there's a lot of knowledge on this board, and plenty willing to share it for free.

Good luck to the two of you.

Re: Hiya

Aloha and welcome aboard!
I really like the Cal 40s. Good luck and start with classes if you don't have much sailing experience yet.
