Facebook is for people who either think their life is so important that everyone in the world wants to know about it, or, people who have no life and want to live vicariously through others lives. I, like 80% of the people on this planet, am neither.

Facebook, like any social media, is what you make it. Your comments seem in line with someone who checked it out briefly five years ago and lives off assumptions. There may be another category, you know, those people traveling around the world on their boat who have family and friends that want to keep in contact. But I'm sure you'd brand those people pretentious as well...
