HI, please help

Hi, I'm an old man (67) with a bad English so many things are difficult for me bat I'm happy to be here with you all.
I live in Milan and I go for vacation in Sardinia, Ogliastra, where I have a small RIB ,rigid inflatable boat.

Today I tryed to use OpenCPN but I stopped at the beginning, so I will open a new post to ask help for connecting Sardinia chart with the software.
If someone knows Italian and helps me, it's appreciate a lot, but also with English I think to succeed.

Very glad to help you to know and to come to Italy and Sardinia.
Ciao
Domenico
I thought that the system will translate the url with the smile ... but it does'nt ... sorry

Hi Ogliastra... Greetings from another young man (64) and Welcome to Cruisers Forum....
OpenCPN works by opening CM93 Charts... do you have any on your computor or saved on a memory stick... it is only a program for opening charts but does not come with any pre-loaded.
If you have the charts then go toTools in the bar top left when you've opened the program... from the drop box chose Charts then load them from your location..
Hope this is some help... though I confess I'm a newcomer to the program but luckily I had all the CM93 Charts for the world... so things work great for me...
Good luck, I hope you solve the problem...

Re: HI, please help

Hi boatman61 from Coimbra and many thanks!
My first problem is the download of the CM93 Charts.
I've read here >> Navigational Software
that's legal to download the CM93 charts, but I'm not able to find the site for downloading.
Torrentz ask for subscription and I'm afraid about this site.

Can you help me? Also with a private message; I think you can send it.
Grazie and ciao
Domenico

Re: HI, please help

i can say that the kmz is for google maps.

I would guess the png would be a good test with openCPN ( been a while but that is what rings a bell for me )

Re: HI, please help

The only chart file in that list is "kap".

Not sure if that is the choice you need, but that's my guess.
