Hi from the road

Hi,
I am Christopher, a 22-year-old from Minneapolis, MN (greatest city on earth). I'm biking from my home to Argentina, but want to incorporate sailing in somewhere, probably the return (I don't want to bike for over a year then fly back in a day), so I joined.
I have no experience now, but I am eager to change that. hopefully I'll have plenty of reasons to use this site in the future. Anyway, hello everyone!
here's my blog: www.patablogonia.com

Welcome Chris.
Might be a good idea to get some sailing experience in before you head off biking southward. Not too easy to find a sailboat needing novice crew so far south - but good luck in your endeavours.

Re: Hi from the road

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Once you get to your destination it'll be time for you to try to find a crew position and in the meantime do lots of reading on basic sailing so you'll be prepared to help sail the boat.
I've not attempted the cycling you are doing but I helped to train my brother for his cross country ride by circumnavigating the Big Island here and I did some riding in Germany many years ago. Lots of fun. I still ride daily here.
kind regards,

Good Luck on your travels- I suspect you will find out that MN is not the greatest city on earth as soon as you spend some real time in other places-be open minded!

Ram, those be fightin words to us from Minneapolis!

I checked out the blog, and it looks like they've made it past Mexico City by now, so I recon they've had a chance to see a bit of other places, and yes, an open mind is definitely needed for anything valuable to enter it ..... Bike on!
