Hello from the Land Downunder, OZ. I go by the name tongaboys..., I'm a multihull addict with no boat and I hope I fit in here.

Glad to meet you all. Although I don't currently have a boat as mentioned, I am about to turn my home into cash and build a wooden/ply epoxymultihull on the east coast of OZ. So this forum will be invaluable for me for the collective knowledge you the members hold. Anyhow 'I wouldn't miss been here for quids', as they say in Australia....tongboys

Thank you. Yes me too, only way for me GordMay, cold-moulded wooden/ply epoxy 42'Horstman I'm aiming for. Build it myself, can't afford to buy secondhand, can't wait to start.

Thank you Paul, The house will sell easy. It one of those arty farty architectural homes, built it myself, me mates the architect. Love it to bits, but the cash will give me freedom on the water.....

When I had Exit Only in Australia, we hauled out at Montys on the Caboolture River. They always had a couple of multihulls under construction at that location.

Hi there Dave, I had lived in Melbourne and Sydney in 1975 to 1990, but never in the country, plan on NSW/QLD coast to build. Montys on the Caboolture River you say, I will definitely have a look see, send you a few pics if you like...thanks for the lead, I have to find somewhere to build.

Monty's isn't fancy, but they have a couple of sheds that people build in. Some people build their own shed for their project.

I stored my boat at Monty's when I was out of Oz. Never had anything ripped off. It's more than five miles up the Caboolture River and seems to be secure. When I was there, it was affordable.

One guy built an aluminum catamaran every couple of years at Montys, and then sailed it up to Thailand where he had the interior finished by craftsmen. He then would cruise a while, sell it, and return to Oz to build another one.

Well the minute the house sells I'll keep, I hope a entertaining log on developments (of cause pics must be included). Have to see if I can do it somewhere, otherwise maybe something in Multihull Forum...tongaboys
