Hi from Paris

Jacana is moored back in Oz,we are in Paris for holidays, strolled along the Seine to visit Port de Plaisance yesterday.First boat in the lock an Aussie.Interesting to see boat life on the river and how the lock system works. Not at all envious of the 4 month boating season though.Staying here till end of July if you know of someone who needs accommodation for a week let me know. Thanks Geoff.

Good time to be in Paris. Tonight we're goiing to the ballet and then watch the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower. Great parade this morning, best watched on TV.

A quick update, last night spent at Eiffel Tower after a 4 hour free rock concert they put on the most spectacular fireworks display to celebrate 120 years of the tower.15,000 fireworks over about 40 minutes to music and lightshow .700,000 people in attendance had a few quite ales then a heap of noisy ones.Didnt come across any fights, bad behaviour and totally safe travelling back by train.Read 314 cars set alight 240 arrests 17 police injured mainly by people with homemade fireworks(big ones).I must have been on the right side of town.Still in awe having been amongst almost 3/4 of a million people singing dancing laughing drinking. What a wonderful world.Geoff.Psst missing my boat though.
