Hi from Miami

Hello, joining the forum today.
I liveaboard my Cal 29 Ita @ Brickell Bay, Miami.
Here we don't put the boats away for winter, au contraire!
It's the best season for sailing.

Regards

Walter

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Walter.

Are there many other live-aboards at your location?

Thank you all!
I came to the U.S. just in time for the crisis, so it's going to take a long time to have the boat Bristol shape.
On the meantime I sail every week end, Biscayne bay and the northern keys.
The area is not really friendly to live aboard, most of them are at Dinner key and some more at Fort Lauderdale, and lot of transient.
By the way, Ita is how I call my hijITA, my little daughter.

Walter, do you know of any place to land a Digy near the Miami Boat show. Long ago whe the show was at Watson island, we could land there ant tie up to the floating docks. The later, when the show moved to Mia marina we used to land at the small dock in front of restaurant row there at Mia marina. There were kids there selling braceelets for admission. Now that the show has moved nort, we csn't seem to get any info on dingy landing at The Marriott

I keep the boat at Black Point marina.

No, I mean at the Marriot on the mainland. What they now call "Sea Isle Marina". Where the upcoming Miami Boat show will be held.

That's a very good question. Since we'll be working a booth at the sail show and have always had plenty of dingies at the other venue in the past years, I did call in to show managment. They were stumped as well. But then they are in Chicago right now. They said they will call me back today with information as to were or if there will be dingy spots. As soon as I find out I'll report back here.

No, I keep Ita @ Marbella Marina, by Brickell Key (Claughton island), about 20 minutes from the marine stadium.

I'll try to found out about the dinghy.
Perhaps you can land at my slip, and then take the free Metromover to the show, I can also ask if there's any slip available.

Nice hat, by the way!

Thanks. nobody here on the left coast of Florida seems to know either, including exhibitors.

I just got the word from the show management. There will be no dingy docking at the show. Sorry guys. I did have a long conversation with them. I told them that this is the season for lots of people looking to cross over to the Bahamas that are living on their boats that would love to be able to attend and dingy in. Perhaps next year.

Thanks for the efforts Tellie. Perhaps next year I'll go to the show.
