Hi from Holland

After lurking here for quiet a while i thought it was time to introduce myself.
My sailing experience till now is limited to the North Sea, but am preparing my wooden ketch (and myself) to leave in 2013 for a year in the med, gain experience and then off to ??????..... and start the low budget cuising.

Oh, and thanks for all the advice, ideas and opinions i found here
allready.

Jeroen

Re: Hi from Holland

Welcome, Jeroen!

It sounds like you're in for a great adventure, and on a wooden ketch to boot!! Be sure to tell us all about your adventures. I'm sure everyone would like to hear more about your, boat too. You should post photographs in your gallery here, and maybe start a thread telling us about the boat. If you don't know how to use the gallery, send me a PM and I'll get you started.

Cheers, Dockhead

Re: Hi from Holland

Hi Boatmen and thank you!

She is a rebuild from an Cornish (southwest coast UK) fishing lugger from around 1900. Build in 1983 in the oldfashioned way from massive oak on oak (20 tons displacement) but with an easier to handle gaff rig instaed of a lugger rig.

grtz,

Jeroen

Boatmen,

She's a beauty! What is that hole in the hull? A porthole?

Hi Skiprjohn,
Thanks for the welcome and compliment about the boat.
Wish my looks were as good
