Just wanted to introduce myself to the Forum - recently purchased a 1984 Hunter 31 to explore the beautiful British Columbia coast, now I'm starting to understand how much I need to learn before we can do that.
I've got plenty of questions, and it appears you've got plenty of answers!
hi Rfb your right up my alley if your in the Queen Charlotte Islands i am assuming i am just a hop and a skip to the mainland in Kitimat i ve always wanted to the Charlotte but never went over there yet maybe when i get a boat ill head over there haha anyway i am just saying hi and i am new to this forum as well seems like there a lot of good people here and knowlegable too
Long hop skip and jump. LOL I lived up in your area some years back. Good fishing and Crabbing up there. A long beat against the prevailing winds up Douglas on the way out. Not great for sailing. Planning on heading up your way this summer.
hi Lancer its nice to meet some locals on these boards or should i say ex locals as in your situation lol yup its definetly a good crabbing and fishing part of the world that for sure i was not aware of the way the winds are on the Douglas it just goes to show what a complete newbie i am to sailboats and boating for that matter haha in fact i ve only been down the Douglas three times in my life on a boat and ive lived here for eighteen years lol go figure
