Newport heater

Thanks John,

Just after I received your message, I met a professional marine electrician, who lives near by. He provides all the electronic stuff I need for a proper installation for a very nice price. I will start today. Its blowing like hell now, so I think that it is a nice day to work inside.

The Newport heater is perfect for in the harbours or at anchor (it costs no electricity only gasoil/diesel). For sailing in cold weather we like the Webasto better because the Newport can handle a sailing angle of 10% and with the Webasto it doesnít really matter, so we think itís safer. Besides that the Webasto is a closed system and the Newport is an open system. Installation advice for the Newport: make the chimney as long as possible and use for the outer chimney the H-shaped one because the wind cannot strike back in that one and in the other ones it does sometimes and then you get a lot of smoke in your boat. Otherwise you can use a fan to get a better draft.
We donít really like cold weather, thatís way we go south. Good luck with working on your boat.
