Hi from China

Hello all,

Just found and registered on this forum.

My name is Claude-Pierre, a 52 year old Frenchie who has been seen enjoying a bottle of red wine with friends in many ports around the world since 1997.

I am currently in northern China (Dalian) but will be in Singapore for an extended period from end September.

I am the owner of and live aboard "Stephanie" a steel gaff rigged motor sailer of 42meters.

With the price of fuel heading for the stratosphere I have now made an offer for a traditional 24 meter Suawesi Schooner that I want to completely rebuild and refit in Phuket, Thailand, before taking her to Singapore in October.

I am a marine engineer and naval architect and a passionate sailor so I hope to meet many new friends here, to share my knowledge and experience and more importantly ..... to learn.

Cheers
Claude-Pierre

Wow! Could we see a piccy of the 42m gaff rigger please?

Great idea to cut back on the size/fuel for your next boat, and from what I hear Thailand is an excelent place to do the refit

Welcome to the mob

Mark

Claude-Pierre - Welcome to the forum. I am baed in Singapore and look forward to welcoming you here.

Please do look us up at Changi sailing club. We are an active, fun and exciting group although I am not sure we could handle a 42 meter boat. Maybe 24 ;-)

We have many European, Australian, Americans and locals and might even be able to find a suitable bottle of red.
