Thumbs up Hi from Central Queensland, Australia

I have been following closely the brave and capable young Jessica Watson on Pink Lady and intend to for the duration of her adventure (my virtual adventure also). I deeply admire her and all you guys who go out onto the oceans onboard your craft powered by nature her self and an element of skill. I have only had one short sail on Lake Nagambie near Seymour in Victoria. in of all craft a sabot. My main adventure sport was parachuting and as things progressed, skydiving. The close group in that sport, was possibly like sailing, in that on arriving in another state, one phone call (mobile these days) and we were instantly into a local group. I read Jessica's down to earth blogs as she uploads them. There is a breath of fresh air in each and every one and feel she has a strong enough personality, even at sixteen, to just enjoy her own company on the high seas while looking forward to the next challenge so she can conquer it. Best of luck Jesse and all you sailors. RockyOne

Aloha and Welcome aboard!
I used to have a Sabot as a tender for my old boat. They are really fun little boats to sail.
regards,

Thanks guys and I hope lots of you get to wet the keel this weekend, providing it is safe sailing of course. Then there is always the clubhouse I guess and the rum ration. I read two great books on Captain Cook's voyages including the one way one. Amazing what they crammed onto a approx 100ft ship. One book listed most everything including the heaps of rum casks etc. But then they were away way over two years. The grass brew they had to eat/drink must have been foul but on Cook's ship it stopped scurvy.

Goodday Rocky,
Our keel remains wet and hopefully my navigation will keep it wet.
Watch out for the lumpy lizards in the fitzroy.
regards from a little further south
