Hi from Brighton UK

I just saw am supposed to intro myself although have posted a few questions already...

I am 58, just bought a 46' steel one off "Pionier" and delivered her from Holland to Brighton in a gale a few weeks ago. Now repairing everything that broke and changing out stuff that simply was not up to world cruising.

Had a beak from sailing since selling my last, also steel one off, cutter in 2004 "Paradis Bay". Sailed that boat 15 years, 5 yrs full time, Med, Caribbean then back to UK, then down to Thailand/Indonesia for a while then single handed back to UK via Suez.

Spent a few months in the Red Sea, Sudan, Eritrea, Yemen and even Somalia, beautiful, most of it. Didn't get shot at once.

Anyway, this forum is proving very helpful as equipment has changed a lot since those days and my new boat is lot more technical than previous one..No AIS then, and never even used SSB let alone sat phones and GRIBs..
