Hi Everybody

I join a few days a go. I'm living in Macau, the things here change a lot with the construction of the new bridge (Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau), pink dolphins (comum in this region) are desapearing, etc...
I'm sure this forum realy help all of us to keep in touch
and share experiences as well being to discussion new topics.
I'm looking forward to join you guys, but with my own boat, till now I've been sailing with some friends in their boat, it's time to have mine.
I'm thinking to buy one between 38" to 45", since I realy enjoy the design of some ketch, I'll look for this type of vessel.
Cheers, all the best.
Miguel

Hi, good day, thank you Erika, and CaptForce, I'll let you know about the progress of my research and when will be the time that I really can close a deal, since I'm selling my first house (in Macau) just after that I'll be able to give a firm step forward.
Best of the best for both of you.
Regards
Miguel

Hi, Navegante 1105, Bluewaters 2812, Gord May,
Thank you so much for your words, I hope I can buy my first body within this year, I saw some interesting vessels already, such as: CT 41 Keych, Hans Christian Ketch 43".
What is your opinion about them?
Best regards
Miguel

PINK dolphins? Do they seem to be drawn to the boat after liberal consumption of rum or beer?

Re: Hi Everybody

I've seen the pink River Dolphins in the Amazon River, but I've never seen the pink ones in Asia. When I looked at their photos online they seemed to be more speckled with pink than all pink,- beautiful animals!

Hi CaptForce
I posted 2 photos in my reply to Viking, please take a look.
I have a video which shows one totally pink, they are beautiful friends.
It's a pity that the progress and business around here it's killing them very fast, it seams that just remain around 60 members around here in South China sea.
Hope we meet one day.
All the best
Miguel

Re: Hi Everybody

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Of the two boats you mentioned, I'd prefer the Hans Christian but I'm of the opinion after sailing many years that I would be more satisfied with something smaller up to about 36.
Good luck in your search.

Sorry, I can't help you with an opinion on either of the boats you mentioned, as I have zero experience with them. My personal preference is a sloop rig over a ketch. One less mast and rigging to maintain, less sail area and sloops generally do better into the wind and dare I say, are somewhat superior on performance. Some ketch rigs do have some nice classic looks though, if that is important to you. Good luck with your choice and search.
