Hi

This chat stuff is all new to me. Please be patient with me as I learn the ropes...lines. I do know the difference between ropes and lines!

Our 40' Wauquiez is moored in Olympia, WA. We are heading for Alaska in a few weeks. This is our first trip to Alaska.

We understand we need Canadian Nav. Charts for their waters. We were hoping to find a used set. Can you put me in touch with someone that would like to sell theirs?

Thank you.

Aloha Kiata,

I think I've gotten rid of most my old from '84 charts but will check. Welcome aboard!

I can't answer the question about them being required but a quick call to the authorities will confirm it if there is a question. My nephews are up in the Tacoma area and my origination is Salem, OR so I know your area pretty well.

Good luck on your trip. It is one I'd like to make someday.

Kind regards,

JohnL

Thanks

Thanks for the response. My husband informed me today that he has taken the plunge and ordered all the BC charts we need....$700.00 worth.

In 2 1/2 weeks we will head north. I hope are electronic charts are enough and we won't even have to use the paper charts.

Wish us luck!...fair winds...stick in the air etc.

Keep a frequent fix plotted to a paper chart regardless. You never know when your electronic chart could go out. Bring a couple hand held GPS units as well for a backup.

Enjoy your cruise.
