Re: Hey new liveaboard

Since a lot of advice is going to be weather/temperature related, you might want to let folks know your geographical location.
I spent twelve years as a live-aboard, and spent much of that time battling thick moving ice. Maybe my advice won't be very useful to you if you are living aboard in Florida!

Good for you! I live on a 31' Hunter. I think Hunter presents a great compromise between speed and space. In fact, for my boat there is no compromise. We just sailed this boat at a sustained 6.5k (not m) using only the headsail (unfortunately the mainsail halyard was at the top of the mast but the mainsail itself was at the bottom).

I have some GREAT ideas for securing your belongings so you can sail as well as live. I sailed my boat 14 days in May.

Please tell. I dont live aboard but do holiday for a wile and always end up with more on the sole than in the lockers.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here.
My stowage system was always put things in lockers, tie them down or place them on the cabin sole. Those little hammocks are great places to stow stuff. It'll swing back and forth but won't end up where it shouldn't.
kind regards,
