Hey, Hey From Tampa Bay!

Yo!

I'm hailing from the Tampa Bay area and finally have the cash flow to start seriously saving for my liveaboard. A little about me: Became obsessed with sailing at 10 after going to a summer camp in MA that had a fleet of old Capri's and Sunfish's and have been finding people to let me shlep around on their boats ever since. I travel all over for work, which zaps a ton of my time and has put my mind elsewhere when it should've been on the water since moving down from Charlotte, NC in 2010... sailing/liveaboarding was the majority of the reason I chose to move here before getting this gig!

I'm in a spot these days to get back out there and start learning everything (literally, I want to learn everything) from some diehards, so if any of you are around the area (seen a few already) then let me know if you have room for one more in the future. I work for a company that manufactures gas service equipment (Dilo | Zero Emissions. Zero Substitutes.) and I do most all of the on-site tech work, so if you ever need an extra hand then I'm more than happy to help! I'm quite mechanically inclined anyways, so if I don't already know about something then I tend to pick up on the basics quick.

Looking forward to see you guys out there! Slainte!

Howdy and Welcome Aboard CF!

Your enthusiasm and dreams could take you far.

You have come to the right place to learn.
I learn something new here each day.

I think CF is the very best place to do that, if you really want to dive in deep into the subject of cruising, and be in a friendly online community that supports it.

There are many resources here on CF that can help you learn about boats, sailing, navigation, seamanship, cruising, live aboard life, and much more. Take some time to click on the various forums, and view some of the threads on more than just the first page of topics. You will find many hours of potential good reading.

Enjoy the forum.
