Hey! :)

Found this forum while browsing the web on sailing. Hope everyone is good. I have been sailing almost every summer since i was born with my family. Just moved to Santa Barbara, CA from sweden and I really want to go out and sail for a day. I just have not found anywhere yet. Does anyone know a place? I miss sailing alot!

Just go stand down at the docks on a weekend morning. If that's you with the hat. You won't be lacking offers....to sail that is!

S.B. is a cool town I have sailed in & out of there. Had many visits there too. I am from the Bay Area originally.

My wife thinks I am as fun as a barrel of monkeys!. She's the one on the left of my avatar.

Aloha Sofie,
Welcome aboard! Just find the nearest yacht club or sailing club and introduce yourself. There will be many who take crew sailing. Just be careful about who you go with. Make certain they are qualified and are not just taking you along because you are pretty. I would suggest looking for a family to go with.
Kind regards,
JohnL

Just go over to the Santa Barbara Yacht Club on any race day and find the boys on Taxi Dancer (a big yellow 70' sled). They are always taking new people out for a sail. Wet Wed is a fun time at that club. Ask for Jimmy or Rick.
I learnt most of my sailing skills on that machine. They are a good bunch of guys and girls (but they do like a drink or 2 after racing). Good luck

There's a Marina Sailing location at Channel Islands harbor near Ventura. You could check that out, too. Welcome aboard!
