Paul,

Welcome. Sorry I can't offer any input to your wifi survey just yet but it does sound interesting

Tons of weather portals for eastern US but not sure which way you're going to Oz so this may not help you.

Cheers

Neil

Greetings form the coral coast.

I am sending this message via "marinanet" which is established wifi network in Queensland. The better marinas have it and even a free anchorage off Magnetic Island just got it. It is expanding rapidly.

The popular way to go seems to be to cross the pacific just after the end of the cyclone season and plan to be on OZ or NZ for the next one and then run north to Asia or Indian Ocean crossing. The Darwin Kupang rally is becoming very popular as a stepping off sail to Indonesia. Safe numbers and full government cooperation/protection.

Details of rally available from Darwin Sailing Club or view report from a participant free download of The Coastal Passage issue # 16 at www.thecoastalpassage.com

Cheers
