Hell.

If I wasn't paying more attention to putting myself on that stupid global map, while setting up my position. It would probably show me on the spot to "Highway to Hell" route?

Yep, that's what I meant. I remember the issue with GORD's location, but I notice no one changed it I guess upper Mongolia suits him

Welcome from Canada's Wet West Coast - though the past couple of days have been a summer wonderland. My "formative" sailing years were on a Tanzer 26 and enjoyed the boat thoroughly.

Being from a military back ground I lived in Ottawa three different times, living just on the other side of the National Research Council, then downtonw on Lisgar street about four blocks from Lisgar High, then Alta Vista, and when really young in "Eastview" now called Vanier Place.

I'm going into UBC hospital for hip surgery replacement - "re-surfacing" - tomorrow: Thursday 18th of May. So by this time tomorrow night, I should be stoned on morphine - I hope.

My boat is an older Catalina - the "leaky Cauldron" - which is an appropriate name for an older 27 footer. I just went down and checked her out today and kissed her good bye since I won't be seeing her for at least 6 weeks or more (for my hip to heal).

Kevin’s “Ghingus Gord” does have a certain panache to it, as would “Gobi Gord”.
Notwithstanding, anyone with the skills, is quite welcome to move my map pin from the rich fossil fields of Mongolia.
According to my grandson, I pre-date the fossil record, as he thinks I’m “older than dirt”, and “just a little smarter”.
Regards,
(Ghingus) Gord

Good luck to you!

I am sorry that you won't be able to enjoy your boat for so long but it will be better when you will come back I think I got a quite nice, forgiving and enough performant boat...I am sure she will treat me well!!!

Best wishes!!!

Winsome Lass:

Bounty sails out of Nepean Sail Club at Dick Bell Park. I'm in Orleans. E-mail me and we can get together to compare boats. I have kept abreast of your adventures, river outings and your mast problems. If you do not have access to my e-mail address thru the forum I can post it later.
