Hello to all of you

I thought I would finally take a minute and introduce my self, my name is Greg and I am currently staying here in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. I am a 41 year old single man who last year, after 20 years in heavy industrial engineering, decided that I wanted a change of lifestyle so I quit my job and moved down here from Philadelphia to find a new life in the marine industry. I have done my training to get my MMD's from the Coast Guard and am just waiting for them to process the paperwork after which I hope to be able to get a job with one of the big shipping or towboat companies.
I have started to look a boats and hope to buy one in about a year to use as a liveaboard and do some cursing on my time off. Well I guess that is enough about me for now, I am enjoying reading this forum and am sure that I will have many questions in the future. I am also always looking for chances to get out sailing if anyone in the area ever needs an extra person.

Hi, Greg,

Welcome aboard CF. I hope someone in your area offers to take you out for a day sail really soon.

Welcome Greg! CF is a wealth of information from the Salty Sailors all over the world! I've learned a lot and you will too! I think you might have good luck if you post your notice in the CREW AVAILABLE tab. Good luck!
