Hi to all,

This is James and his beloved Black Wind, currently sailing around SW USA and the West coast of Mexico. I am heading down and around to the Caribbean soon, but thoroughly enjoying Mexico right now. If there is anyone out there in the area I would look forward to saying hi, and come and say hello if you see the boat.

Welcome to Cruisers' Forum!

I'm interested in your signature: Voyaging. Not Cruising. Would love to know what the impetus for that distinction has been.

Thanks for all of the replies - you wondered about the signature? The following quote I think kinda sums me up pretty well...

"To be truly challenging, a voyage, like a life, must rest on a firm foundation of financial unrest. Otherwise, you are doomed to a routine traverse, the kind known to yachtsmen who play with their boats at sea... cruising, it is called. Voyaging belongs to seamen, and to the wanderers of the world who cannot, or will not, fit in. Sterling Hayden... Actor, author, wanderer
Sterling Hayden was an up and coming Hollywood star who quit, bought a sailboat, and took off with his children for a jaunt around the world.

Aloha and welcome aboard,

Sterling Haydon wrote a great book that I can't remember the name of but was a good seafaring tale. A lot of controversy about how he took his children but he certainly was an interesting character.
