Hello to all

Hi,

Just arrived at CF, having just got a boat in the water for the first time in many years. I am introducing my partner to sailing and as she is a filmmaker we hope to be producing some videos of our exploits up the Deben. Anyone in Suffolk UK who fancies an easy sail can come and play, you are most welcome. Our Matilda 20 has been restored by us since we acquired her in a sorry state in February. We are just finishing bits of rigging and she will be ready to sail. The weather here in Felixstowe is lovely and we look forward to our first season of gentle cruising on the river as we get used to handling our boat.

Stuart

pirate Re: Hello to all

Ahh.... Felixstowe... remember it well... one of my runs ashore.. along with Harwich... when I was a sprog..
1965 some bikers beat up a couple us Junior seamen... 500 of us from HMS Ganges hit Felixstowe... boy did we kick the 'Rockers' butts...

Welcome to CF mate..

Thanks for your welcomes. The forum has already proved invaluable in helping me fix a recalcitrant outboard and will no doubt continue to provide a lot of help and advice.

Our boat ( nee Tara soon to be Gem) is on the point of being sailed. I am currently constructing an A frame to drop the mast so I can complete a few tasks (tangled halliard due to hurried launch, luff guide requiring silicone and a new jib halliard to enable the furler to be used). Last week we cleaned the gas pipe and got the stove working as well as modding and fitting some slides into the furler ready for the (also modded) jib snaps.
Now we just need the weather (and the time) :-)
