Hello There from Australia

We are new to CF but have often read your forums with interest. My husband and I are looking forward to getting back on board a boat again after a 30yr absence. We cruised for a few years BC (Before Children) in a Compass 29 along the Aussie East Coast, PNG and The Solomons. Then family, farm and careers became the priority for some time. NOW with retirement on the horizen and new freedom we have been seriously thinking sailing/boat again. We spent our last holidays checking out some sailboats to get a feel for what suits us best. It was such a good feeling being around boats again. So thanks for letting us be part of CF. We are sure to have many Q's to ask as we search for the right boat.

G'day mates.

Welcome to the forum.

I would recommend a monohull or a multihull under 40 feet. They work for me just fine.

Good luck on your adventures.

G'day, dmgf from the other side of the Tasman. Make sure to include Mason's in your search. You won't be disappointed. Cheers.

Hi dmgf

What part of Australia are you from? I'm from Lake Macquarie and currently building a new boat. My Compass 29 currently has a For Sale sign hanging on the lifelines. It's been a great learner boat for me but I also want a (semi) retirement boat and am building one with a bit more space and comfort than the Compass 29. Happy boat hunting!
