Hello from San Diego

Hello everyone - new to this discussion board , though not new to sailing or to taking care of very very old boats. Glad to be joining you!

Aloha Ray,
Is the Star of India still sailing annually? Welcome aboard! I hope you enjoy the forum. I used to sail out of Fiddler's Cove in the 70s and 80s. SD Bay is really a great place to sail.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Hi John:

For the first time in many years, Star of India is not sailing in 2008, due to a combination of factors: we are preparing for another tall ships festival in a few weeks, expanding the foot print of the museum by the installation of a floating dock, acquiring the submarine USS Dolphin AGSS 555 and retrofitting her as a museum ship, and replacing the fosks'l head deck on the Star. She'll be back sailing in 2009, but this year in November we will be sailing our other ships Californian, HMS Surprise, and Medea (steaming her) together to celebrate Star's 45th birthday.

Best wishes,

Ray
